This is the dev log for Hemmeligheden på Fyns Hoved, a point-and-click adventure heavily inspired by the Monkey Island series, set on Fyns Hoved in Denmark.

We'll write about our progress, our doubts and our ideas, and share the life of two guys who love the genre but are very green.

This is our very first (almost; I did try an article on Medium, but drifted away from it again) blog post about our game. A game that has been in development for a while, because, well, we have so many other responsibilities.

So this first post is a bit meta: it's about what we are trying to achieve with this page.

First of all, we'd like to be completely transparent. Since we are two adults with limited time, we are using AI to superspeed our development, and to that end, we've made an AI transparency page. We want to make it clear that AI is used for tooling, some programming, project management, grammar checks and reviewing different parts of the game, as it really helps us do what we like most: imagining and creating a fun world.

We've had our doubts about whether or not to use it, as I value human input most of all, but in the end, we also don't want to be dispirited by the herculean task in front of us. So rest assured, everything the player sees in the game is created by us and our imagination. We'll keep the AI transparency page updated as things shift, and we're always happy to hear your input.

With that out of the way, welcome to the blog, whoever chooses to read it.

We are developing a game about Erik, a would-be detective with questionable skills, who ends up in a mythological adventure where he has to figure out what is going on at a little-known headland on Fyn, Denmark.

In this blog, we'll discuss what is going on from week to week, and what we're struggling with as we try to finish the game.

Also, our name, Bennett & Lennett, is an internal joke and has no real meaning.

Best,
Jacob
